Boxer Dave Allen has died in hospital on Monday morning, trainer shared the sad event with the press.
The of Allen’s death comes just hours after his trainer reassured fans of his recovering.
The ‘White Rhino’ was carried out of the ring following defeat to David Price on Saturday night.
Allen was pulled out of his fight at the end of the 10th round having been dominated by Price from the start of the contest.
The 27-year-old was given oxygen after the final bell but was carried out of the ring on a stretcher and rushed to hospital where he was receiving treatment until his death.
Allen was known for his toughness inside the boxing ring, and was a two-time Commonwealth heavyweight title challenger. His most notable fight was a third-round knockout of Lucas Browne in April 2019.
